Perth Heat Announces Bitcoin Payments to Staff

Perth Heat has announced that it has become the first professional club in the Australian Baseball League that will pay its staff and players in Bitcoin as decided in the new sponsorship agreement signed by the club. Revealing the specific details, the club said that it has also appointed a chief Bitcoin officer and received full cooperation from the players and staff alike in embracing the system of payment through cryptocurrency.

Also, the club has extended the facility of using Bitcoin for the payment of drinks and food for the spectators at the stadium. Players can accept the full payment in cryptocurrency or can go for a combination of traditional Fiat currency and Bitcoin as the league allows both methods. However, it is important to note that there is no specific mandate by Perth that payment to its players has to be paid in Bitcoin.

Taking a futuristic approach, the club said that cryptocurrencies are the talk of the town, and it is just a matter of time before they become a mainstay of financial transactions across the globe. Professional sports are also slowly and steadily embracing the payment in Bitcoin, and five years down the line, each and every professional sport will definitely have Bitcoin and other digital currencies on their list of accepted currencies.

Noting that the new infrastructure and technology progress has been made Bitcoin dealings incredibly easy, chief executive of Heat, Steve Nelkovski said that they are going to note down the preference of each and every member related to their remuneration either in Bitcoin or traditional currency.

The concept of Bitcoin symbolizes transparency and authenticity, and by embracing this new method of digital payments, organizations, including professional sports leagues, can make tremendous progress in their both on and off the field. It is truly a commendable development that will help Bitcoin to spread its significance and reach among the target audience. Especially among sports leagues, this will act as an inspiration and motivating factor for others to come forward and embrace the crypto revolution.
